How to Use
Drip irrigation shut-off valves function to provide flexibility in the installation of a drip irrigation system. The 1/4" and 1/2" shut-off valves are used to shut off individual drip lines or laterals as part of a drip irrigation layout. Use them with 1/4" micro tubing or micro line with .150 to .170 ID and 1/2" drip tubing or drip line with .570 to .600 ID. The valves provide the option of turning an individual line of 1/2" poly tubing or 1/4" micro tubing on or off without affecting the other lines on the system zone.
- To install the 1/4" or 1/2" shut-off valves, cut the micro tubing, drip tubing or drip line with a hand pruner, being careful to keep dirt from entering the line.
- Hold the shut-off valve in one hand and the end of the micro tubing, drip tubing or drip line in the other and force the tubing over the barb by wiggling it from side to side.
- Make sure that the tubing is pushed over the shut-off valve barb for a very tight fit. No glue or clamps are required.
