Native to the Mojave and Sonoran deserts, these intensely blue and highly attractive bell-shaped wildflowers can grow well in nearly any garden as a wonderful attractant to bees and other pollinators.
When and Where to Plant: Sow seeds 2-4 weeks before the final frost of Spring or in the Fall after the first killing frost. California Bluebells thrive in full sun and in somewhat dry, sandy soil, but can tolerate other conditions as long as well-drained.
Care: Once the Bluebells are established, do not irrigate them. They will make do with whatever water is available, and do not require fertilizer.
