This crisp texture and mild, sweet, turnip-like flavor makes it an interesting addition to stews and casseroles. It is also enjoyed raw as part of a relish tray. The edible portion is a large bulb produced on a stem above the ground. Grows well in containers.

Care: Keep soil moist, clean, and feed every 4 weeks.
Harvesting: Pick or pull before they mature (2 to 2-1/2 in./5-6 cm.).
